search_posts
Search Reddit posts by subreddit and/or author, or fetch specific posts by id. Optional q= applies an exact-phrase (plural-flex) filter, but ONLY over the single page this call fetches (limit, default 25, max 100) — it is not a search across the whole after/before window. A page with zero q= matches does NOT mean no matches exist in your date range: check has_more/cursor in the response and keep calling with the returned cursor as your next after (sort=asc) or before (sort=desc) until has_more is false or you have enough. For an active subreddit, one page can span just minutes to hours, so scanning several days for a specific phrase often takes many calls. Each page costs 1 credit whether it matched or not — narrow subreddit/author/date range first if you want to control cost. If ids= includes even one invalid/malformed id, the whole call returns an 'invalid request' error (refunded, not charged) rather than silently skipping the bad id or claiming a transient outage — verify ids came from a real search result first. 1 credit per call.
